Cladograms and reclassification
In prehistoric times cladograms of base and amino acid sequences were not possible and data wasn't available for analysis. Cladistics is the construction of cladograms and the identification of clades. Classification is based on morphology but does not always match the evolutionary origins of species. Some species as a results have been reclassified, becoming merged, divided or in some rare cases be transferred from species to species. Reclassification is time-consuming for biologist but it is advantageous for results to be reliable. It can lead us closer to a more reliable natural classification system. Additionally we can also reveal significant differences and similarities between species.
